Welcoming Committee

Do you know of a new neighbor that we might not know about yet?

Please call one of our Welcoming Committee Volunteers and let them know.

Also, please be sure to let Don Frattini, our Vice President knows as well.

Welcome, Neighbor!

On behalf of the Sherwood Lake Association, we welcome you to Lake Sherwood Acres.  We know that you and your family will be happy living here.  Please visit our website at www.LakeSherwoodAcres.com.  It contains important information about events and issues concerning our neighborhood.

The Sherwood Lake Association (SLA) and the Lake Sherwood Club Association (LSCA) are non-profit organizations and were formed in 1973 under the Laws of the State of Louisiana.  Annual meetings of the Sherwood Lake Association are held each January.  These meetings are open to ALL residents and offer a fantastic opportunity for you to get updated on neighborhood events and financial standings, voice your opinions, and visit with neighbors.  We cannot overemphasize the importance of your attendance and participation in these meetings.  As needed, special meetings may also be called.

In addition to the annual meeting, the Sherwood Lake Association hosts a New Resident Welcome event at the clubhouse each spring.  This event provides a casual atmosphere for you to get to know some of your new neighbors and take a look at the clubhouse facilities to which you now have access.  Keep an eye out for emails and notices on the letter boards located at each of the neighborhood exits for the date of this and other exciting events around the neighborhood.

Between meetings, we have several ways that we’ll communicate important information and upcoming events.  There are quarterly newsletters, the letter boards, our community website, and direct emails sent from our Communications Director, Don Frattini.  If you have something to share with the neighborhood, please reach out to me or Don.

Our neighborhood has Covenants and Restrictions that were legally filed with the state in 1973.  They are administered by the Lake Sherwood Council, which is made up of three members from the Sherwood Lake Association Board of Directors.  A copy of the Covenants and Restrictions (revised June 2005) is available on the website and is part of your new resident welcome packet.  Please review these Covenants and Restrictions.  Any improvements, repairs, additions, or alterations you intend to make to your residence should be submitted to the Council via the “Homeowner’s Maintenance Form for Approval” which is also available online and in your packet.

One of the ways we keep our neighborhood safe is through security patrols.  Please help our security officers identify resident vehicles by placing one of the Lake Sherwood Acres stickers on the passenger side of your rear window.  Stickers are provided within the new resident welcome packet or can be obtained by contacting Security Chair Jim Cazes.  Boat stickers are also available.  As an added safety benefit, you can also request periodic checks of your specific property from our patrols while on vacation or for other special reasons.  The Security Request form is online as well as in your packet.

The Lake Sherwood Club is tremendous amenity and hosts many events throughout the year.  Visit their website at www.lakesherwoodclub.com to stay up-to-date on activities.  You may also reserve the clubhouse for your private events.

The Lake Sherwood Garden Club is a social club and is open to all ladies of Lake Sherwood Acres and Deerfield Village.  Please contact Membership Chair LaNelle Johnson if you are interested in joining.

A list of important numbers for services provided to the Lake Sherwood Acres area is available on the website as well as within new resident welcome packets.

If you have additional questions, please call or send me an email.  Again, WELCOME!
