Mike Hayes has been a resint of Lake Sherwood for the last six years. He lives with Jami, his wife and two of his stepsons at 4118 Lake Sherwood East. Jami and Mike have 6 kids and 3 grandchildren collectively. He lived previously on Lake LaDare during the time of 1979 to 1983.

Mike retired in July 2007 from a career with Blue Cross Shield of Louisiana. During his 34 years his primary work was in the Internal Operations. He served as part of the Executive Management Team and was the Executive Director of HMOLA. He ended his career serving as the Senior Vice President of Benefits Administration.  After his retirement with BCBSLA, he did commute for 2 years to Puerto Rico. During this time, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Medical Card Services. MCS is a health insurer about the size of BCBSLA. In May of 2009, Mike came home.

The Board of Lake Sherwood gives Mike a focus for his retirement period and allows him to utilize his experience and training working with a management group. Prior to this year, Mike was a member of the Lake Sherwood Board in 2007. Because of the Puerto Rico job travel he did not seek reelection in 2008. Mike has lived both on and off the lake; as a result he brings a broader perspective of our resident’s needs.

Mike spends much of his time in the neighborhood. You may see him on his daily walk around the lake with Woofy and LolliPup, the two PeekaPoos that are his constant companions. If you get a chance stop and chat, he would like to spend time getting to know you and listen to your perspectives.

Don Frattini: Prior to moving to Baton Rouge in 1996, Don lived in Connecticut and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1962. After an 8 year career in teaching, he served as a labor negotiator and organizer for 30 years with the Connecticut Education Association/NEA, the teachers’ union.

He was elected treasurer of SLA in January, 1997. He also serves as a member of the Lake Sherwood Council and as Chairman of the Communications Committee. He resigned from the Treasurer’s position in 2013 and is currently Vice President and Membership coordinator.

He is a volunteer arbitrator for BBB, active in the Cajun Clickers Computer Club, and a member of Italian American Spanish Town Marching group. He is a presenter for the National Staff Organization at their annual conference in January. He is married to Charlotte and has 4 grown daughters living in Concord, CA, Arlington, VA and New York City and a step-son in Nashville, TN along with 5 grandchildren. In his spare time, he plays a little golf and enjoys assisting others.

Doug Pacas - Doug Pacas and his wife Debbie moved to Lake Sherwood Acres in June 2015.  They lived previously in Parkview Oaks before purchasing and renovating their home at 12312 Lake La Belle Circle. They are married with two adult children and two grandchildren who now out on their own, and a standard poodle named Lucy living at home.

Doug and Debbie are thrilled to be the “new kids on the block” at Lake Sherwood Acres. As a realtor, Debbie loves to “sing the praises” of Lake Sherwood Acres to potential buyers. Both Doug and Debbie are eager to invest themselves with their new neighbors in our community.

Terry E. Edwards - Terry and his wife Judy built their home on Lake Lingham Circle in 1993, prior that that they lived in Woodland Ridge. They have two married sons and three grandchildren. Both sons were on the Lake Sherwood Lakers swim team and now granddaughter, Ashlyn, is a LSL swimmer as well.

Terry is a graduate of Northwestern State University and has been a General Real Estate Appraiser with Terry E. Edwards and Associates

for the past 35 years. Terry and Judy are active members of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Terry is an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. All family members are LSU Tiger fans.

Terry is concerned about maintaining Lake Sherwood at its maximum potential. With the great number of amenities our subdivision offers we have an obligation to see that all restrictions are enforced and residents are keeping vigilant for our continued safety. Now that our subdivision is completely built out we need to encourage all residents to show pride in ownership and also encourage them to become involved in the Lake Sherwood Association.

Jim Cazes, his wife Grace, and their teenage son Trevor moved into Lake Sherwood Acres in March of 2007. They moved from Parkview Oaks to 3928 Lake Laberge Circle. Lake Sherwood Acres residency had been a dream of theirs for several years after they had moved into the adjoining subdivision 15 years earlier.

Jim recently retired from Johnson Diversey after working for them for 30+ years-- most recently in a sales manager position working the Gulf Coast, from Louisiana to the pan handle of Florida.

Jim served on the St. Thomas More School Board while Trevor was attending school there. He is also active with the St. Patrick Catholic Church and many of their organizations.

Jim is from the Baton Rouge area, and is a graduate of Istrouma and LSU Baton Rouge. He has degrees in Marketing and Management. He likes to cook and enjoys nature and the out doors. He is an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter.

Samantha Montoya moved to Lake Sherwood Acres in September 2017 with herhusband, Mike, 2-year-old daughter, Maya, and their two dachshunds, Tootsie & Butters.

Dennis M. Kates an Electrical Engineer, his son (Demond), and nephew (Trenton), purchased in Lake Sherwood Acres in July 2011 and have enjoyed every minute living in this subdivision. Presently, Dennis is in the process of renovating his Lake Lawford Court home and is thrilled to help preserve the beauty and value of the subdivision.

Dennis and family are natives of Bogalusa, Louisiana where he retired from the Gaylord Container (formerly Crown Zellerbach, and now International Paper) located in Bogalusa.

Since moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dennis has worked with several engineering consultant firms which he plans to continue as long as health permits. In addition, Dennis has two grandchildren that live in Louisiana.

Tommy and Jan Milazzo moved into Lake Sherwood Acres in May of 2013. Jan’s mother Maggie, also lives with them.  They have one dog, Rudy, and two cats, Buddy and Peanut.

Jan and Tommy both work for AT&T in its state and local government accounts, as well as in its higher education accounts.  It keeps them very busy.

They both love to travel and spend time in Dauphin Island, Alabama.

I have been a resident of Lake Sherwood Acres for 35 years. I am a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lake Sherwood Garden Club, Lake Sherwood Book Club, an Investment Club and PEO Chapter E.

I enjoy going to the symphony with friends. My spare time usually involves an activity with one of my six grandchildren or my daughters; whether it be a sporting event or just hanging out. Molly (my furry confidant) and I enjoy living on the lake and taking walks.
